You can’t fight an enemy you don’t see.

That is the message of the World Health Organization. That’s why they urgently advice aggressive testing and, contact tracing for fighting the corona outbreak.

And it makes sense. You can’t fight an enemy you don’t see.

I’m not an virologist. My expertise isn’t about pandemics. I’m a project management hacker. My expertise is about project organizations. Let me stick to that.

But for project organization also applies you can’t fight an enemy you don’t see. It is very difficult to prevent projects from running into problems all the time. And when you have tried everything, and nothing seems to work, then you know how invisible the enemy is for project organizations.

And that is not a surprise. You can’t see projects in action. They are totally invisible. They only exist in our mind. Think about that. And you only need a few projects to totally lose overview. That is how organization lose control. And how projects run into problems most of the time.

What are fever, tiredness, and dry cough for the COVID-19, are delays, budget overruns and poor communication for problems with projects.

And like wise you can’t fight a virus you don’t see, you can’t fight problems when you don’t see or understand what is causing them. You can’t fight an enemy you don’t see.

The first thing to do, is to setup a pipeline. That makes projects visible. What is coming up? Where do projects jam? Which projects are at risk? What actions are needed? How are we doing?

This used to be real complex resource management and project scheduling. Difficult to setup. Hard to learn, and impossible to learn. It takes many months at least, up to a year or longer.

But this road map, and this planboard and this dashboard, takes about a day to setup. They give a crystal clear view. And it does amazing things. Easy to learn and easy to use.

It is a real game changer to finally see what is happening, and what to do to prevent projects running into problems.

I want you to experience that. So when you want to see how your project pipeline looks like, then fill out this spreadsheet together your colleague’s.

When you return this to me, info@empoweryourprojects.com, then I show you your pipeline. To help you , because you can’t fight an enemy you don’t see.
